Launch of the QE2 50 years ago today. This is a silent video with lots of fascinating original footage showing large crowds at the Renfrew side including children who must have come from school. The video shows the ship being launched up the River Cart directly opposite the shipyard. I remember it because we were told that we would see the launch from Camphill school.
