Sponge floating Multi-Finish!!!! In my opinion is incorrect practice. It’s typically used by those who haven’t yet developed proper timing or technique. In plastering, the purpose of a sponge float is to expose the aggregate on render not on finish plaster. With skim, we close over, not open up. If your finish isn’t consistently improving through your set, your process needs refining. There’s no reason to strip the bond from the aggregate on a 3 mm finish; doing so produces a weak, grainy surfac
