Wirral Coasguard said “Due to an ongoing fire on Hilbre Island and the potential instability of cliff edges, we would urge members of the public to please not attempt to make their way over to Hilbre Island. “Merseyside Police will be maintaining a cordon to prevent access to the island from Dee Lane car park in West Kirby. “Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team, Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue are currently on scene.” | Wirral Weather
