Carnotaurus had extremely small arms, even smaller than those of T. rex, but it compensated with a powerful neck and skull. Its jaws were adapted for a unique feeding method known as “strike-and-tear.” This involved quickly striking its prey with its jaws and then shaking its head side-to-side to tear off chunks of flesh, much like modern-day crocodiles.
