Bridge work is a major component of the I-17 Improvement Project, with 12 bridges between Anthem Way and Sunset Point being improved. This includes protecting the bridges for long-term use. Crews on southbound I-17 at Moores Gulch are constructing grouted wire tied riprap, using rocks or soil that help prevent erosion and retain a slope, filling them with riprap (rocks and boulders) excavated from rock blasting operations on the project.
