On Thursday, June 6th 2024, HFD responded to a report of a brush fire suspected to be caused by a blown tire just south of Cottonwood Lane on Highway 92. First units on scene realized the fire was in fuels and terrain that would pose a challenge to control. Mutual aid was requested from Crawford Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 4 hours before the fire was under control. They returned the following morning to mop up remaining hot spots. Non-firefighting HFD
