Rite Aid’s return to bankruptcy within a year after completing its prior Chapter 11 shows that when critical vendors aren’t prepared to move forward with business as usual, even a carefully crafted plan risks failure.
Pharmacy chain Rite Aid announced it began Chapter 11 proceedings Monday. Stores will remain open and the company will "facilitate a smooth transfer of customer prescriptions."
Customers have until June 6 to use any gift cards, coupons or other rewards, the state attorney general advises.
