Summerlin South defeated Utah, 6-3, in the Mountain Region tournament final to advance to the Little League World Series. The Mountain representatives join Connecticut as the only undefeated American teams left in Williamsport, and Summerlin South has not lost a postseason game this entire summer, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The Summerlin South Little League team kept its winning streak alive and brought home the victory after scoring the game’s only run in the extra inning. On Monday, Aug. 17, Summerlin South defeated Irmo from South Carolina in the Little League World Series.
This is Summerlin South's first appearance in the LLWS. One other Las Vegas team, Mountain Ridge Little League, made it in 2014 as the West Region representative. The U.S. championship was retroactively rewarded to them after Jackie Robinson West (Chicago, Illinois) forfeited its wins due to the use of ineligible players.
