Denzel Washington, who has two Academy Awards to his name, recently said in an interview that he is "not that interested in" receiving the prestigious awards.
Despite having two of his own and the potential for another, Denzel Washington isn’t concerned with the Academy Awards. The actor, whose Spike Lee joint Highest 2 Lowest premieres Aug. 15 in theaters and Aug.
"I’ve been at this a long time, and there’s times when I’ve won, shouldn’t have won, didn’t win, should have won," Washington said during an interview with Jake's Takes. "Man gives the award, God gives the reward. I’m not that interested in Oscars."
Denzel Washington isn’t in it for the accolades. The two-time Oscar winner said in an interview on Jake Hamilton’s “Jake’s Takes” series that during his career, he’s been through wins and losses at the Academy Awards,
"I've been at this a long time," Washington said, "and there's times when I've won, shouldn't have won, didn't win, should have won."
