Posts appeared on the company's social media accounts on Monday, declaring "Legends never die" and "Duo is back."

The owl mascot for Pittsburgh-based Duolingo is not dead after all, according to social media posts by the organization.

Duo the Owl was known for his silly antics, reminding Duolingo users to complete their daily lessons. He debuted with the app in 2011.
