Texans HC DeMeco Ryans breaks down the John Metchie trade: 'It hurts to lose him.'
Metchie, who's entering the final year of his rookie contract, was shipped off to Philadelphia for a 2026 fifth-round pick and tight end Harrison Bryant. The Eagles are regained their 2026 sixth-round pick from the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade from March.
It took about 20 minutes of John Metchie's first Eagles practice, and two more injured WRs, to show why the team traded for him.
The Philadelphia Eagles have made their second trade in 12 days, continuing a busy summer for general manager Howie Roseman and the defending Super Bowl champions. This time, Philadelphia added depth at wide receiver, trading tight end Harrison Bryant to the Houston Texans in exchange for wide receiver John Metchie.
