Google and Samsung are the two names that come up first when you think of the best Android phones. And with Google’s brand-new Pixel 10 Pro XL now official, it’s only natural to wonder, is it the better buy over Samsung’s current best Galaxy S25 Ultra?

Google's Pixel 10 is an exceptionally well-rounded package, and might just have what it takes to beat the Galaxy S25 series.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is currently on sale with 23% off, which means it’s down to $850 for now. It’d normally set you back $1,100, so this is a pretty hefty discount. It’s only going to be on for a short while though, so if you can afford it and you want it, now’s the best time to pick it up.

We now know everything we need to know about the Google Pixel 10, which means it's time to do some comparin'. Google bared all during its Made by Google event, giving us a look at specs and features for its latest batch of flagship smartphones.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL features a 6.8-inch Super Actua display that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and achieves a max brightness of 3,300 nits. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a slightly bigger 6.9-inch Dynamic Amoled screen with 120Hz peak refresh rate and 2,600 nits peak brightness.

However, I grilled Samsung for coasting with the Galaxy S25 series. And if I were being fair, I’d have to do the same with Google — but I won’t. Both companies have a similar sales pitch: software is the reason you’ll want to upgrade. But while Samsung let me down with Galaxy AI, Google’s done the opposite with Gemini.
