Valančiūnas, who has two years remaining on the deal he signed with the Sacramento Kings last offseason, has reportedly been pursued by Greek team Panathinaikos for a potential return to pro hoops in Europe. The Nuggets intend to have Valančiūnas honor his NBA contract, however, per ESPN.

Jonas Valanciunas is set to be acquired by the Nuggets, but not quite yet amid uncertainty regarding his playing status.

The Nuggets informed Valanciunas' representatives that "the franchise fully intends to have him honor his contract," reports ESPN’s Shams Charania. If Denver sticks to its guns on this, the conversation is over.
