The brothers became eligible for parole after a judge reduced their sentences from life in prison without the possibility of parole to 50 years to life.

In 2023, the brothers' attorneys filed a resentencing request. They argued that the original sentences should be revisited in light of the brothers' youth at the time of the murders and evidence of abuse that was not fully weighed in the trials.
