While the Southern detective’s latest case, Wake Up Dead Man, recently hit screens, writer-director Rian Johnson is already planting the seeds for the next mystery, aka Knives Out 4. Johnson recently offered a promising but vague update on the future of his iconic franchise.
In the meantime, Johnson hopes to direct at least one original film before returning to “Knives Out” for another story of Craig’s stately southern detective Benoit Blanc. He says that the “Knives Out” movies are all meant to be products of their time, and therefore, the intricate plots and their surrounding themes cannot be rushed.
In the whodunnit, the four actors with ties to MCU movies were involved in the crime. Both Josh Brolin’s Monsignor Wicks and Thomas Haden Chruch’s Samson Holt died. And the people responsible for those deaths wound up being Glenn Close’s Martha Delacroix and Jeremy Renner’s Dr. Nat Sharp.
