The passengers who were killed after a bus crashed on the New York State Thruway in the Pembroke area on Friday have been identified.

Three New Jersey residents were among the five people killed Friday afternoon when a tour bus carrying more than 50 passengers overturned on Interstate 90 in Genesee County, New York, state police there confirmed. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Friday in the town of Pembroke, roughly 30 miles east of Buffalo, police said.

Authorities say a tour bus returning to New York City from Niagara Falls has crashed on an interstate highway, killing five passengers and injuring many others.
