Iceberg twice the size of Greater London runs aground near South Georgia - The British Antarctic Survey says nutrients from the grounding and melting of the megaberg known as ‘A23a’ may boost food for penguins and seals.

The colossal iceberg A23a – which is more than twice the size of Greater London and weighs nearly one trillion tonnes – has been drifting north from Antarctica towards South Georgia island since 2020.
