President Donald Trump froze funding to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and put thousands of employees on leave as part of a government efficiency initiative led by billionaire Elon Musk.

Elon Musk called USAID a criminal organization that should “die.” Proponents say it’s a key arm of U.S. influence that, if destroyed, “cannot be easily rebuilt.”

Elon Musk is saying that USAID — and untold other regions of the American federal government — has constructed a false, "Truman Show"-esque reality around us. Keyword: saying. It means nothing, and Musk — who's knee-deep in digitally-driven power grab within the federal government — has offered no proof of the notion that we're living in an intentionally constructed false reality built by the foreign aid agency he's bragged about taking a "woodchipper" to.
