When shares of Cracker Barrel fell as much as 15% Thursday in a backlash over the restaurant chain’s logo change, it may have seemed like a golden opportunity to get in on an undervalued stock. After all, a new logo doesn’t change a company’s fundamentals, and it might be worth the gamble if the uproar quickly blows over.

Fans have speculated that Uncle Herschel is Herschel McCartney, the uncle of Cracker Barrel founder Dan Evins. McCartney was a goodwill ambassador for the company in its early days when it was founded in Tennessee in 1969, according to Cracker Barrel Insider.

After Cracker Barrel announced it would be updating its restaurant and logo, the chain saw an almost $10 drop in stock in one day.
