Power outages hit hundreds of thousands of customers across Massachusetts as a nor'easter​ swept through Monday.

The Dominican Republic was hit by a nationwide blackout on Monday following a "major failure" in its national power grid, authorities said, the second outage in three months.

The outages were mostly caused by problems with local power lines, and coastal Massachusetts was particularly hard hit.
