Russia hammered civilian areas of Ukraine with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles overnight, killing at least 16 people and injuring more than 80 others in its biggest aerial barrage in almost two weeks,

Russia said a fire broke out in the Port of Vysotsk area on the Baltic Sea after overnight Ukrainian drone attacks, while a strike on Ukraine’s northern region left 380,000 users without power.

The barrage included Iskander ballistic missiles, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and hundreds of drones, overwhelming Ukraine’s air defences.

On April 16, ​Russia pounded Ukraine with one of the most intense and protracted aerial attacks in recent months, hitting major Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, with missiles and drones.
