A fire burning near Silverado Trail wineries prompted evacuation orders in Napa County. The Pickett Fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, off Pickett Road, near Calistoga. By Friday afternoon, it had burned 3,235 acres (5 square miles) with 5% containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.

The Pickett Fire continues to grow in Napa County, and the flames are now encroaching on vineyards near Aetna Springs.
Pickett Fire initially started 2:57 p.m. Aug. 21 in Napa County, California. After being active for 30 hours, it has burned 3,993 acres. A crew of 435 firefighters succeeded in containing 7% of the fire by Friday evening. The cause of it is still under investigation.
Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties will likely be impacted by smoke from the Pickett Fire, the Air District said Thursday.

Evacuations have been ordered for some residents near Calistoga in Napa County for a growing brush fire burning near Pickett Road. The fire is burning from the northeastern side of the city to the Silverado Trail,
