LSU baseball won its 11th game in a row as the Tigers completed a sweep of North Alabama. Here are five takeaways from the weekend.

Leftfielder Josh Pearson launched his first career grand slam Sunday to highlight a six-run sixth inning, as top-ranked LSU defeated North Alabama, 11-5, in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. LSU,

LSU wasted no time getting on the board as Jared Jones hit a two-run shot to give LSU a 2-0 lead. Jake Brown followed that with an RBI single and then Steven Milam scored to make it 4-0 Tigers after one inning.

LSU, which won its 11th straight game, improved to 16-1 on the season, while North Alabama dropped to 3-11. The Tigers return to action at 6:30 p.m. CT Tuesday when they play host to Xavier. LSU entered the bottom of the sixth inning holding a 5-2 lead when it exploded for six runs.

Junior right-hander Zac Cowan replaced Eyanson in the eighth inning and struck out five batters in two shutout innings to end the ballgame. Between Eyanson and Cowan, 20 of the 27 outs LSU recorded came via strikeout.

Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers will return to Alex Box Stadium on Sunday afternoon for Game 3 against the North Alabama Lions with first pitch set for 1 p.m. CT. Johnson and Co. took down the Lions in Game 2 on Saturday behind a strong performance from starting pitcher Anthony Eyanson on the mound.

LSU baseball clinched another weekend series victory on Saturday, taking down North Alabama 6-2 at Alex Box Stadium. Tigers junior right-handed starter Anthony Eyanson recorded 15 strikeouts in seven innings and junior slugger Jared Jones hit a home run and had two doubles.
