New York City police reopened Times Square in Midtown Manhattan to vehicles and pedestrians on Monday after a brief closure that followed a call about a suspicious device at West 43rd Street and Seventh Avenue,

Times Square in central Manhattan was evacuated on Monday afternoon following a bomb threat. Officers rushed to the famous area, crossed by millions of tourists and locals every day, on August 18 following reports of a suspicious package.

At least three people have been injured in a shooting that occurred in Times Square at around 1:20 a.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 9, the Associated Press reported, citing the New York Police Department.
