Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma in 2010 but overcame it with the help of an experimental trial drug.

Jones made a passing reference in the documentary to undergoing cancer treatments “about a dozen years ago.” Jones confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that he was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in June of 2010 and underwent treatment over the following decade.

Jones then told The Dallas Morning News he was initially diagnosed in June 2010 and underwent two surgeries on his lung and two on his lymph nodes over the next 10 years after skin cancer cells metastasized to other parts of his body.
