The Houston Astros ' star slugger, sidelined since May with a fracture in his right hand, played the second game of his rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi on Thursday. He had three hits, including two doubles, in the Hooks' 4-2 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders at Whataburger Field.

Yordan Alvarez is swinging the bat like he’s ready to return to the Astros lineup. Alvarez roped three hits, including a pair of doubles, in his second Minor League rehab outing on Thursday night for Double-A Corpus Christi.

After his first rehab start, Alvarez spoke with reporters and shared an encouraging update on his recovery. Rey Castillo, reporter for the Caller-Times, shared the comments from Alvarez, which were very encouraging.
