Since Team Cherry first announced Silksong in Feb. 2019, waiting for the game has become a meme unto itself. Fans have characterised themselves as clowns for continuing to wait in the absence of any updates, as well as constantly getting excited then disappointed by rumours of news. Many have joked that Silksong will never actually arrive.

"Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song!" reads the official description.

Unfortunately, this only added to the sense of disappointment once we finally got to play the game and found it to be… fine.
