Colorado Parks and Wildlife biologists have determined that a gray wolf found dead in Rocky Mountain National Park in April was likely killed by a mountain lion, or cougar. While mountain lion attacks on wolves do occur, they’re considered rare and usually involve a young or injured wolf away from its pack.

A 4-year-old was bitten by a mountain lion while hiking with family in Olympic National Park. Officials say the child’s father intervened and helped stop the attack.
