Promising to drive “a dagger through the heart of climate-change religion,” Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin on Wednesday outlined plans for an aggressive rollback of environmental regulations.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said his actions will eliminate trillions of dollars in regulatory costs and “hidden taxes."

And EPA plans to overhaul the Biden administration’s “social cost of carbon,” a metric used to assess the cost of climate change. On his first day in office, Trump ordered EPA to weigh eliminating the “social cost of carbon” from regulatory decisions and to consider the legality of the “endangerment finding.”

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lee Zeldin on Wednesday announced 31 actions that the agency will undertake to "power the great American comeback."

The agency announced Wednesday that it will begin the process of dismantling dozens of Biden-era rules for electric vehicles, power plants, clean water and more.

The EPA administrator says he is rolling back dozens of environmental rules, including those crucial to California programs on climate change and electric vehicles, and closing offices that worked to lower pollution in poor communities.

Most of the actions are reconsiderations of existing policies, including regulations on power plants, the oil and gas industry, vehicles and wastewater. Standards for mercury, pollutants, greenhouse gas emissions and air quality are also being reviewed.
