Mike Leach makes College Football HOF ballot after lengthy wait
The former Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State coach is one step closer to college football immortality.
The one onstage is stamped with MIKE LEACH, and just hours after Mississippi State University announced that its 61-year-old football coach had died of complications of a heart condition, Leach’s bar stool has become a shrine of sorts. Staffers have been told it is not to be moved. Occasionally, patrons bring it drinks.
North Texas head coach Eric Morris had a fun story to tell in a recent interview about his mentor and former coach, Mike Leach. Morris played for Leach as a wide receiver from 2004 to 2008 at Texas Tech before serving as his assistant after graduation.
