Miguel Cabrera loved watching the Detroit Tigers’ late-summer surge last year, but he chose to stay away from Comerica Park. The youngsters had a good thing going, and he didn’t want to get in the way.

LAKELAND, Fla. — Detroit Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera reported Wednesday morning to spring training for the first time in 2025. The future Hall of Fame inductee has been a special assistant in the front office since retiring as a player in October 2023. He is happy to be back in TigerTown. For him, nothing compares to being on a baseball field.

Miguel Cabrera, who serves as a special assistant to president Scott Harris, was back in Lakeland on Wednesday and is expected be here the rest of the week.
