Severe storms moved through East Texas overnight, prompting tornado warnings and leaving visible damage in parts of Upshur, Marion Counties.

The final day of the sprawling 1,000-mile, multiday severe weather threat that slammed the Heartland Tuesday will target more than 95 million people as it charges into Eastern Seaboard Wednesday

Tornado hits east Texas, damaging homes and causing injuries. One man said he nearly lost his wife and daughter.

A heavy line of storms moved through east Texas Friday night (March 6) into Saturday morning (March 7), bringing with it a reported tornado.

“Tornadoes are a different animal,” Southern Longview Automotive owner Matt Ryan said.

We followed a deadly severe weather outbreak as it moved east, bringing the threat of tornadoes, damaging winds and flooding from the Gulf Coast to the mid-Atlantic.

Severe storms brought damaging tornadoes to parts of the central US Thursday and Friday, shredding buildings into piles of debris and killing at least eight people.

Following a long week of severe storms, the threat is contained in the Carolinas and parts of the Southeast on Sunday.
