An active shooter was reported on the campus of the University of South Carolina on Sunday evening, the school said in a campus-wide alert.

Students on the University of South Carolina's Columbia campus experienced an active shooter scare on Sunday evening, but no threat was found and no shooting took place.

The University of South Carolina says there is an active shooter on campus, according to an alert from USC’s emergency notification system. The shooter was reported a little after 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Cooper Library and is being described as a six-foot white man with black pants.
