The League of Women Voters of Ohio and Kent held a community conversation Thursday night at the Kent United Methodist Church.
The Ohio Redistricting Commission is scheduled to vote today on a new congressional map that, if passed, would cement congressional districts through 2030.
“We can breathe a sigh of relief,” said Mike Skalak, a parent who spoke at the meeting. “Hopefully we can be part of this process going forward and get it done on the front end so that we’re not all cramming for a test.”
Cleveland voters will choose a city council under a new ward maps that reduced the size of the chamber from 17 to 15 members due to population loss.
