Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr., the son of legendary NBA superstar LeBron James, debuted shoes and apparel featuring his signature "B9" logo earlier this year. But on Tuesday, James' Nike plans hit a serious roadblock curtesy of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The 'b9' logo denied due to 'likelihood of confusion' with Back9 Golf Apparel's registered mark. James has worn shoes bearing the logo in some Lakers games.

The agency said Wednesday there would be a "likelihood of confusion" between the proposed "B9" logo and a logo that was already registered by Austin-based Back9 Golf Apparel.
