Two people survived the crash of a small plane near the Boise Airport on Saturday. Boise police and fire departments responded to the scene of the crash near the intersection of North Orchard Street, West Victory Road and West Wright Street, according to a Boise Police Department social media post.
While Boise is not one of the hubs designated for flight reductions by the FAA, many of Boise's connecting hubs are being affected.
Two people had non-life-threatening injuries Saturday evening when a small plane crashed outside Boise Airport. The Boise Fire and Boise Police, in a joint statement to KTVB, said the crash happened near the intersection of Orchard Street, Victory Road and West Wright Street in Boise.
The Boise Airport dodged inclusion among the 40 U.S. airports expected to see cuts to flights after federal officials ordered that commercial airlines reduce service during the ongoing federal government shutdown, but local impacts still may be felt.
Officers are responding to a small plane crash that occurred near Victory Rd. and Orchard Rd. in Boise at 6:41 p.m. No fatalities have been reported.
The Boise Airport is organizing a community food drive to help federal employees and airport staff impacted by the shutdown and SNAP food benefits delays.

Several agencies are responding to a fire that is burning more than 80 acres south of the Boise Airport. The Bureau of Land Management’s Boise district, according to a Twitter post, is responding to the Southtom Fire, which is 12 miles south of the airport.
