Anthony Edwards wasn't going to let the Minnesota Timberwolves lose. Edwards made a pair of 3-pointers and had two and-1s in the waning minutes of a wire-to-wire battle to lift the Wolves to a 127-119 victory over the Houston Rockets Thursday night at a sold-out and loud Target Center in Minneapolis.

Houston Rockets guard Dillon Brooks is renowned as one of the NBA’s best defenders and leading trash talkers. The latter didn’t help Houston’s top stopper Thursday night.

Anthony Edwards has been playing up to his superstar status for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He totaled 90 points over two wins on back-to-back days with the Timberwolves missing two key contributors and searching for a mid-winter spark.
