The Texas Rangers organization and its partners plan to provide $1 million toward the short-term and long-term Central Texas flood relief efforts, the team announced Monday. The Rangers join a list of several in-state professional sports teams that have announced donations in the wake of this past weekend’s flood.

Two sisters from Dallas — 13-year-old Blair Harber and 11-year-old Brooke Harber — were among the dozens of lives lost in the catastrophic floods that swept through Central Texas early Friday.

The Dallas Cowboys are donating $500,000 to the Salvation Army to assist in recovery from the flooding that has devastated the Texas Hill Country, the team announced Sunday.
