According to reports over Super Bowl weekend, the Jets had reportedly told Rodgers he would no longer be the team’s QB moving forward. That has since been confirmed by the team. With it fully known that the 41-year-old would be moving on, the Jets sent that “thank you” note to Rodgers on social media.

“Rodgers in a 49ers uniform would also bring his career full circle. San Francisco famously passed on the California product in the 2005 NFL Draft. Even though Rodgers would become a legend in Green Bay, he did suffer multiple postseason defeats to the 49ers along the way.”

Rodgers' first season in New York ended just four snaps into his debut because of a torn left Achilles tendon that sank the Jets' Super Bowl hopes that were stirred by the QB's arrival. He worked his way back to the field to start every game this past season, but he and the offense struggled with consistency and results and the Jets finished 5-12.
