President Donald Trump's envoy has proposed allowing Moscow to keep four Ukrainian regions it claims to have annexed.

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Steve Witkoff is part of negotiations for a Ukraine war ceasefire, the White House said.

The Kremlin's sincerity in seeking a ceasefire is increasingly suspect after weeks of negotiating, nitpicking, and reneging on U.S. proposals.
