On Thursday, the SEC moved to adopt a nine-game conference schedule beginning in 2026. It’ll require them to schedule at least one ACC, Big Ten or Big 12 opponent every season, and Notre Dame is included in that group.
Notre Dame went 14-2 against the two (8-2 vs. Georgia Tech, 6-0 vs. Tulane) during each of their times as SEC programs with all of those meetings coming between 1938 and 1959.

Luckily for Notre Dame, they were able to pull in an elite secondary class even without Womack. The five-man group of Joey O'Brien, Khary Adams, Chaston Smith, Ayden Pouncey, and Nick Reddish is an outstanding one. The future of the back end under secondary coach Mike Mickens is in a very good place, and is only getting better.
