Hurricane Erin is marching north, lashing North Carolina's Outer Banks with rough waves and coastal flooding, and bringing a threat of dangerous waves and potentially deadly rip currents to the East Coast.

Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Watches have been issued for portions of North Carolina’s Outer Banks as extremely dangerous Hurricane Erin continues to barrel across the Atlantic as a major Category 4 hurricane.

FEMA recently approved an additional $96 million for Helene recovery efforts. Over half of the money will go to NCDOT for road repairs. The rest of the funding will go towards issues like infrastructure and debris removal.
