Joseph Kling, 19, of the Waretown section of Ocean Township, was charged Wednesday with aggravated arson and arson in what is being called the Jones Road Wildfire, which has burned more than 20 square miles of the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust’s Forked River Mountains Wilderness Area since Tuesday morning.

The containment area crews have is 15,410 acres, an impressive size for an already busy wildfire season. "This time last year we were at 310 wildfires for a total of 315 acres burned," said Bill Donnelly of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. "This year the same period. We're at 662 wildfires with 16,572 acres burned."

The Jones Road Wildfire in Ocean County, New Jersey, forced thousands to evacuate their homes, but the evacuation orders were lifted Wednesday morning.
