The FBI has arrested a Milwaukee judge accused of helping a man evade immigration authorities. Friday's arrest escalates a clash between the Trump administration and local authorities over the president’s sweeping immigration crackdown.

The FBI launched an investigation into claims that Judge Hannah Dugan helped an illegal immigrant evade ICE officers by misdirecting them.

The Justice Department said Hannah Dugan refused to turn over a man wanted by immigration agents and that she tried to help him evade arrest by allowing him to exit through a jury door.
