Angel Reese injury update: Sky star scores 19 in return to action after missing seven straight games
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was terrific in her return from a back injury Tuesday, though her efforts were not enough against a Seattle Storm team that's desperate to hold on to a playoff spot. Reese put up 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists on 9 of 13 from the field, but the Sky fell, 94-88.
It had been three weeks to the day since Angel Reese last played for the Chicago Sky. The 23-year-old forward had been sidelined since July 29 with a back injury, and in her first game back — a 94-88 loss to the Seattle Storm on Tuesday — she was put on a minutes limit — something she admitted after the game she wasn't thrilled about.
Despite the loss, the return of Reese was a major positive for the Sky. In addition to her 19 points, she also added seven rebounds, four assists and a block. She shot 9-of-13 and logged 26 minutes in her return from injury.
Angel Reese has made a bold statement about her Reebok signature shoe that should have Nike execs scratching their heads. The Chicago Sky forward landed a deal with the sportswear company, which has made a comeback recently and even has a Netflix series.
